Wth? I am a n00b at twitter. I need assistance.?

If someone tweets... And another person has a remark... And they're all "@whomever", (in my case it's Mark Hoppus.." Don't they just hit "reply" with the little curvy arrow? And type whatever? I frickin did that and it said "Your tweet to Mark Hoppus has been sent!" Did I just bloody send a private message? Or should it show up if I hit expand? Because if I hit expand, nothing from me shows up. . . Then if I sign out and look at that tweet, there is nothing from me either. Wth. Help pleease.

That tweet should show up on their page. I don't know if it shows up on your own home page. It should but Twitter is dumb and I don't use it as much as I once did.
