Is there a way I can disable people sending me game apps etc on facebook?

It's for my dad, whom is beginning to be a little bit senile and doesn't understand how to use facebook properly. Constant notifications like people sending him applications frustrates him and confuses him. He just wants to get in contact with people and people want to get in contact with him, is there a way I could make it more simple for him? Thanks heaps.

You can block the applications to avoid getting invites or requests. I hope this helps..=)
