How can I organize my friends on Facebook?

I want to know how Facebook organizes friends on my list. I heard it's organized alphabetically. Is this true? I want to know how can I change the order of my friends on my friends list (without having to make a new list). I'd like to put my closest friends on the top, but how can I do this and change the order?? Please help, I'm sort of new on it. So any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Well, recently they ahve updated chat. Now on the right side of the screen. Your right not the computers right. sooo.... -------> that side hahha. It has the friends you MOST interact with. So it will show your closest friends Alphabetically. (:

also, if you go to your profile, click edit profile, click friends and family, and then go to create a new list, you can choose your closest friends and make a list that will show up on your profile

so say you choose your besties and make a list called, Besties <3

you can pick friends to put in that list

then save it

and then the next time you go to your profile, under your profile picture, it will show the list, Besties <3

and under that will show all your Friends
