facebook groups??? do you have to join them?
my friends BF keeps getting all these Sex Groups added to his Facebook.... he tells her he has no idea how they keep adding onto his Facebook. Is that true that these groups can just appear as groups you belong to? and you do not add them?

No, you don't have to join them.
There is no way you're automatically added to a group. He joined them and is a liar.

He either has to actively join them himself or accept an invitation to join. He is deceiving your friend in a rather childish immature way (why does somebody in a serious relationship need sex groups?). What she should do is stand over him as he types a complaint about these sex groups to Facebook support and watch him carefully as the message is sent. The reply should be interesting

No you can't "automatically" join groups.

I see 3 scenarios here, in how groups can be joined.
1) he seeks out the group and joins is.
2) he is invited to the group and joins it.

and the third scenario is someone no one listed yet.

3) someone else has his email/password and is logging in and joining groups just to screw with him. tell him to change his password.

Either he is joining them or someone has his account information and is logging in as him.
