Facebook Question regarding blocking people?

My ex and I recently broke up. I know that Facebook somehow keeps track of the profiles you visit//commented on the most and displays those people frequently on the home page, highlights bar and even ads. Well my ex is part of that list.

Is there any way to reset it so he is like everyone else again? I don't want to delete him completely. I just don't want to see him every time I log into FB.

go on the 'Home' page, hover over the top right-hand side of one of his posts, and it should say 'Hide'. click that, and he'll still be one of your Facebook friends; but you won't see all his updates on your news feed. I don't think you can do the 'More/Less info about ____' on the new Facebook.
