Can someone explain the whole hashtag thing to me?
Ok I know this is a twitter question, but I figured facebookers would know too. So I'm trying to tweet that I'm in love with this new TV show. What should I put as the hashtag?

#ilovetv
#addictedtotv
#television
#TV

i don't get it... what should i put? Does it matter? What is the point of hashtags?

usually you dont want to just make one up, you want your tweet to be seen by lots of other people, right?

so look up existing hastags that are relevant and already exist and have lots of followers

The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages.

People use the hashtag symbol # before relevant keywords in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets to show more easily in Twitter Search
