If Facebook timeline is worldwide now, then why do most of my friends not have it?

I kept seeing articles on Yahoo and CNN and other places that the new Facebook timeline, was out worldwide and is now mandatory. If thats the case then why do very few people on my friends list actually have the timeline? When I go to their profiles its still the old layout for at least %80 of the people on my friends list.

I am wondering the same thing!!!!! It said like it was mandatory for all profiles to have it last month and I was forced to get it but most of my friends don't even have it! I have no idea why some people had to get it and some people didn't. Not fair.

Because it isn't mandatory they still have a choice at the top of there page asking if they would like timeline an there not stupid enough to click it so they have the old one still

Probably.its because they havent installed it properly. ie. U have to confirm it after u install)preview it. Its "supposed" to worldwide & in effect as of march 29th

they dont roll it out to everyone all on the same day, but soon everyone will be using timeline

Either your friend does have it, but they installed something that made them have the old facebook profile back, Or they are just ignoring the option to covert it.

Facebook have not forced everyone to switch to Timeline yet, they are gradually switching people over, because they know if they did everyone all at once, there would be a huge uproar and user backlash, so they are being cautious with the roll-out.

'As far as I know, it's mandatory from 30th March, til now it's been something you can switch to if you choose to - I have chosen not to! So tomorrow I will wake up and there it will be, forced on me! A group I'm on a lot has had timeline for a fortnight now and I'm still not getting used to it. It's gonna be the death of Facebook - they are idiots for not even giving their users a choice to have it or not!

It's mandatory for facebook pages only but it's going to be mandatory for everyone very soon.
