ok so we're both sophomores in highschool, and last year we really liked each other. after a few months though we started drifting apart, and havent talked in almost a year. the thing is, he's one of the most popular guys in school, and im not popular. i mean im not a loner or a nerd or anything, but im not in the popular group. so thats why i think he never talked to me at school. but anyways, even though we havent talked in a year, he keeps staring at me at school. he doesnt smile or say hi or anything, he just gives me a blank stare. but he stares at me all the time now. he hasn't texted me, and he wont even follow me back on twitter. does he hate me or something??? or does he like me?

How about asking him how he is when you have the chance? That would be a good ice breaker + conversation starter if he's having troubles. Then ask about his love life, if there isn't, slowly go to your relationship. Tell him you miss him and if he does too, then that's a good sign.

talk to him, he isn't staring for nothing. maybe he misses you but doesn't know how to get back in touch. When he stares what do you do? Look away? Maybe try smiling at him or wave at him to see if he is actually looking at you. Talk to him when no one else is around.

I would agree with some of the answers you already have and talk to him. If you are catching him staring at you there's a reason for it. He should probably try to talk to you himself, but he may be too nervous about what you may say. The best way to get answers is probably to go to the source: him.
