okay, so why do people put a number sign (#) in front of phrases or words etc. and what is a way to get more followers. i only have =( how can i get moree

the # has something to do with the trending topics crap and to get more followers show your tits( if you're old enough) or be funny

Putting a hashtag before a word or phrase turns it into an instantly clickable link to that keyword.

People also use them for humorous asides, ie "Man, who ate all the cake? #itwasme #itotallydidit"

And who cares about random people seeing what you have to say? If you really need your followers number to increase just find other people who are desperate for followers and add each other.
