Why does your facebook friends count always change even when not adding/removing friends?

Today its 1211, tomorrow its 1208, and then its 1212 the next day. Why does the friend count change every day if your not adding new friends or removing them?

At first I thought it was just that a few friends "unfriended" me, but then the number would rise again. I mentioned this to a friend who noticed the same thing with hers?

Its Because The Numbers are Always Changing especially with people deactivating there profiles and reactivating it it can all effect profiles

sometime facebook shows i think there is problem in fb
this done with me also

i saw my friend is 701 i just refresh page then it shows 705

some time may be frnd also deleted
increasing automatically is not possible you got notification for every increase frnd!!!

This happens to me all the time too. It can sometimes bring your friend count down when some FB friends deactivate their profiles and then re-activate them again at a later stage. Then when some friends delete or block people on their friends list for a variety of different reasons. Its just an issue with obviously childish FB friends. I would n't worry too much about it.
