How do I remove sponsored ads from my wall on Facebook?
So this is annoying. What can I do to get rid of the sponsored posts that show up on my wall? Unlike other posts, it does not allow me to delete it. Does anyone know what to do about that? This is making me hate Facebook.

Welcome to the Internet. Advertisements are inevitable.

People pay Facebook to place those ads there. Facebook isn't going to allow you to "block" or remove those ads, otherwise nobody would be willing to pay for them.

Keep in mind that Facebook is a FREE SERVICE for you. Since none of the millions of users pay Facebook to use it, they sell advertisements to make the money needed to keep the lights on. As a condition of you using the site for free, you must put up with the advertisements. If it's getting unbearable for you, stop using the site. That's how Facebook sees it.

And to continue what Swibs said, did you notice the advertisement to the right of your question? Running web sites costs money, and given the free-to-use nature of Facebook and the incredible amount of traffic that is generated to their web servers, advertisements are the best way to keep their services free.

Just out of curiosity: would you be willing to pay something on the order of US$15 per month for your Facebook account? Do you think anyone else would?
