What are your views on facebook safety and privacy and how have the privacy settings changed?

It is getting more and more confusing, how to keep it safe?

Safe, what about keeping it from ANNOYING me to death! I have almost deleted my account for some of the stupid sh*t Facebook has done recently. I've gone into the settings to try and change it, and as soon as I do, something else pops up in my Newsfeed that I do not want, and it turns out to be another damn box to uncheck! But to uncheck it, you have to find the stupid thing! GAAHHHHH
