Do all those "find out who is viewing your profile" apps on facebook really work?

I keep seeing one called Find Out Who Is Viewing Your Profile In Seconds !!!

There are plenty more, of course. Do they actually work?! I've seen that they give people notifications of people who view their profile. Are the notifications true? I am confused, and this seems completely against what facebook is about.

I would say no. I believe i read somewhere in one of the letters from the runners of facebook that those are not correct.

No such applications don't work and Facebook bans applications like those if they are actually made to work.
Facebook protects a user's privacy in that manner, so any application created to show users who view their profiles are violating the rules of Facebook.

If u actually follow all the steps u would see that all of the apps asks u to send request to every one! it is because the more people the apps have the more information it can gather by hacking! and if u go along the steps u would see that, they all asks u to go to specific links which might contain viruses or even be used to hack ur accounts!! this is one of the reasons why facebook accounts hacking is increasing day by day because it is pretty easy to show u a link and tempting u to go there through this public demands !!

I am Facebook App Developer, and I can confidently say No. It is impossible for an app to tell you who views your profile, because Facebook simply does not make this data available. So all those see who views your profile apps don't actually work... some of them just spew out random friends.
