A question regarding Facebook privacy settings?
Recently, I changed the privacy settings on my Facebook account so that my profile page doesn't show up on search results and so that other people can't add me as a friend, only I have the power to add them.

Let's say I have a friend in real life who did the same thing with her settings. Let's say we're not Facebook friends yet.

Wouldn't our privacy settings make it impossible for us to be on each other's friends list? Since we can't see each other's profile and we can't add the other.

I just really thought this through. hahaha.
EDIT: I meant that when people actually see my profile, they don't have the option to send me a friend request Smile
EDIT again: And oh, I'm not a Facebook hermit. hahaha. I'm just getting tired of strangers sending me friend requests. haha

Yeah- I've thought of that too. No one can "add you as a friend" without your permission, so I'm not sure what setting you're talking about. Your entire profile doesn't have to show up, but you can set it so only limited information is shown (say, your 'info' tab) and you can have the "send so-and-so a message" link so if anyone finds you they can send you a message, and at that point you can send a friend request if you want. I dunno... there's a fine line between privacy and being a facebook hermit...lol!
