how to gain followers on twitter?

i've made a twitter, and although i've added some of my friends (around 15 of them) i've only managed to get 2 followers!
so whats the secret to gaining followers?

there are many companies out there that look for keywords, join many of the major social networking sites, list major interests (or make some up). Following random people is also a method you can use. The few people that you don't know that do follow you probably are doing that.

Follow follow follow and then follow as many good people as you can, some autoatically return the favour. Mention people in your tweets, dont forget #FF (Follow friday) and be nice and interesting, this will all help, good luck!
