How to talk to this guy I like?

So there's the junior that was in my homecoming group who I think is really funny, smart, and attractive. The thing is, I'm a Senior and I only see him in the band at football games or coming out of the band hall if I happen to get to school early enough. (A few of my theatre friends hang out by the band hall in the morning)

The thing is, my best friend just broke up with her boyfriend who is in band and doesn't want to hang around the band anymore. Also, I can't tell any of my band friends because they know this other girl we know likes the guy and they'll be like, "ah u cnt lyk him grl code!!1" which is total bull poop.

So anyway, I really want to get to know this guy so that I can perhaps go out with him or something in the future, but I don't really know what to do. (I've thought about messaging him on facebook, but everyone knows that's hella lame and he's never on anyway.)

I mean, we hung out at a party after homecoming and he sat by me at the party and when we left to go get drinks in another guy's car. He also took like 20 seconds to put on his seatbelt, but I think he just wanted to touch my butt because it doesn't take that long to buckle a seatbelt when you're sober. He was also being really hyper and I touched his head and told him to "pipe down" and he said, "I liked that." ...?

So I'm not saying we really hit it off, but I think he's pretty okay with me. I'm just not sure how to get his number. I've always been bad at getting guys numbers.


Sorry this is so high school-y and dramatic, but y'know how it is.

make sure you're friend is okay with it first and foremost, and just talk to him. who cares. just DONT come on as too clingy
