how do i avoid getting Facebook timeline?
I've received a message on top of my Facebook page saying I'll get a timeline soon, even though I never wanted one. Is there a way I can avoid getting it, or if Facebook is bent on giving me one, a way I can switch back to the old profile view?

Ahhh :L Sorry to bring the bad news, but there isn't any way of you switching back to the old profile.
When everyone started getting the timeline, loads of my friends say they actually wanted it, and they chose the option to have it... but then, people like me, didn't want it just stayed with the old profile. BUT THEEENNNNN, some of the other people who didn't want it, said that it automatically downloaded itself, that didn't happen to me... but then i decided I wanted it... i regretted it, but seriously, its not THAT bad, you get used to it!! Good Luck! It seems when they want to change Facebook,they people in charge do so. I wished they had stopped changing it 2 years ago! Also Im having problems unlocking my account for 'sercurity' reasons and all I get in reply to my emails is form replies. Hey at least its still free.(for now)

You can't and you wont be given a choice to refuse.
Everyone will eventually have it whether you like it or not. Zuckerberg dictates what your going to have and the hell to everyone else. Bit like Microsoft, Apple, Google and anyone else who has got a stranglehold dictate what your going to do, NOT what you want to do! All they're interested in, is making money from advertising not what you punters think! |

there is no way to remove it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook, not an optional update - they are now forcibly converting everyone slowly without your consent

There is no way to avoid it and no way to remove Timeline, however If you dont like the double column layout of timeline you can revert to viewing all timeline pages in a single column layout format, if you install the highly rated and well respected FB Purity web browser extension:
