Why does my best friend keep ignoring me on Facebook?

Whenever I ask her a question about school, or something simple, or just say hi, it will say 'seen' almost immediately, yet she never replies. I haven't asked her at school why she's doing that, and she acts so normal with me, chatting, jokes, being the way we always are. Also, when she sees it, she is online and does other stuff like commenting on something or liking a status/photo. Why is she doing this? is it deliberate, is she a 'true friend' or something that people just do?

She could just be busy, or simply just needs space.

it may say "seen" but you know how glitchy facebook can be, just maybe post on her wall, in a jokey way about her ignoring you on chat, if she deletes it, you will know something it up, if it stays up and she doesn't comment, it might mean that she never ecieved a notification, it might just be a glitch between yours and hers contact with eachother over facebook.

She might just be sick of you (not being rude) lol, or just get tired of people messaging her all the time maybe

There could be many reasons why she is doing this ....however I suggest you ask her , then you will get the right answer and know what to do . Or you could just stop asking her anything on FB ....never put your hand out to have it slapped again and again .

You could be smothering her online. Maybe she's mostly annoyed by you by facebook then face-to-face. Maybe it just happened to be concicdental that during all those times you commented, she was just busy. Maybe someone else was on her facebook. Maybe she's one of those people that just seems to be really weird in terms online response. I've been through this before where I'd send a message and they don't respond. It's rude but it's also weird.

If she's treating you right in person, I think that's all that matters. We take facebook too seriously anyway. However, I would test her a little by not responding to her anymore on facebook, but continue to do so with other friends. She might notice and get scared or jealous. If she does not notice, then at least you're only wasting your time by trying to talk to her over facebook.

Or you could just talk to her. After all, you both are best friends, you should be able to talk to her about anything.
