Fabrice Muamba's collapse shows how prayer comes naturally?

Over here in a Britain a footballer called Fabrice Muamba dropped on the pitch as if dead after suffering a cardiac arrest. The next thing that happened, after the paramedics reached him was a member of the opposing team dropped on his knees to pray. No one jeered. There has been an outpouring of prayer requests on his behalf since then. There is a hashtag on Twitter: even the front page of the newspaper The Sun says God is in control. This isn't marginalised religion. In fact it is such a public demonstration of faith and prayer that it's hard to reconcile it with our normal worldview. So what's going on? Is it as simple as there are no atheists in intensive care?

It IS hard to reconcile, since Rupert (crusty old b4$tard) Murdoch who owns The Sun has "died" in a cardiac arrest before, come back and declared words to the effect of "there's nothing there, no Heaven, no Hell, no family members" etc. etc.

Old Rupe knows what sells papers to the gullible. No-one of any intelligence buys The Sun.

What's going on is that people of religious faith are doing what they do in a crisis. It's a public demonstration of faith and prayer by that section of the society who have faith and believe in prayer. The rest of us are quietly hoping for Fabrice's full recovery and trusting in medical science and the skill of the doctors, which is what is really going to save him.

Why on earth would anyone have jeered?
