How can I add people to my crew without adding them as friends on Facebook?

I've been to events in YoVille where ppl ask for ur e-mail address to add u on to their crew. I did the same but when I enter the e-mail address to send them the invite, nothing happens. I don't want to add them to my Facebook friends, just my YoVille crew. Is that really even possible?

They have to be your friend to send them the invite. Most applications like that will let you keep the member even if you delete them from your friends. I don't play Yoville but I know that it works with several other applications
