How do I get more "likes" on my Facebook status postings?
I am a guy, have a Facebook account with about over 240 so-called friends, and post everything in my status (and on my wall) from thoughts, to pictures I have taken (or have found) and current events. However, I only average one "like" per status. I would get about 2 or 3 likes for something supposedly significant. The most "likes" that I ever got was 10, for announcing my Grandmother's 80th birthday. I have seen people give other's "likes" for various pictures, religious quotes, special events and/or even simple everyday quotes. Am I doing something wrong?

You aren't doing anything wrong! Sometimes I get 30 something likes other times I get 1. Wait until there are many people online to write it, and make sure it's interesting. Think, if I saw someone else write this status... Would I like it? But don't worry too much about it! Smile

i think you'll start to find that most of the times people don't like a status because of how nice/cool the status is; but they like it because of who is posting the status. example: some guy might post a status and get 20 likes and another person might post a status and get 50 likes. popularity and other shallow factors like that normally come into account, but hey, that's life..

Just because you post a status update doesn't mean you will get a truckload of likes. Whenever I post on Facebook (very rarely, mind you), I hardly ever get even one. The most I've gotten is 3 or 4. The truth is not a lot of people care that you, say, went to Chuck E. Cheese's, or saw a cool car, or got something for your birthday. Why? It's stuff that almost anybody can say. If you are just desperate for attention, you could post humorous statuses. Those get about 10-25. Most people that get a lot of likes are either famous, funny, dramatic, or just plain desperate for attention (Ex. "I hate my life."). Don't sweat it. Out of those 240 friends, you probably only like about 15 of them at the most.
