Facebook Privacy Question?

Facebook Privacy Question?
I deleted my facebook a while ago because my family (and I too) were worried about the privacy. Now I'm thinking about getting it back, but I would like for not everyone to know yet.

My question is:

Is it possible to be completely invisible except to your friends?
I know you can be invisible in searches, but is there a way for people to not see you in other people's friends lists?

Any help how to remain "not on facebook" to everyone except my friends would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you all. Smile

Settings->Privacy->Search->Visibility

And if you are ever tagged in anything your name will come up black, with no link, so it will look like they just wrote your name in.

If your search visibility is set to "only friends" then people will also not be able to see you on other people's friends lists. Even if you choose to send things to your friends through different applications you will only be listed as "Facebook User". However, if you choose to post on other people's walls, I think people can see that. Make sure that you set it so that only your friends can see your profile, profile picture etc. Then if you do write on someone's wall they will only see your name and not your picture. Check your settings under all privacy categories (search, profile etc) to make sure that you feel comfortable with everything. Hope this helps.
