Why haven't I been hired? What am I doing wrong?
I just turned 16 this July, expecting to get a job within a month.. but BOY was that not the case. I recently moved out to Florida from another state (but that shouldn't matter -- should it?) and I've applied EVERYWHERE. Literally anywhere I can think of (McDonalds, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts, Lowes, Kohls, Marshalls, Walmart, Kmart, Applebees, Supermarkets, etc) and NOTHING. No one's interested in hiring me. Most of my applications have been done online, some were in person by paper and others have an application center in the store. I've given my resume if deemed necessary, my social, DOB.. all that. No one's called or emailed saying they're interested in interviewing/hiring me. I'm DESPERATE to get a job because I want to help my family out. I have a Facebook and a Twitter, but I don't post provocative/vulgar things on there.. Another thing is that I don't give the email associated to my Facebook or Twitter.. maybe that's it? I just started giving that email to 1 application so far.. I need some type of guidance.. I have no experience. Can someone please tell me what the crap it is I've been doing wrong?!

After 31 years on the job, my job was outsourced to India. 3+ years later I still haven't been able to find a job. I have 31 years of experience and I am only 53 but no one will hire me. Unemployment gone. You think you have it bad.

when i was job hunting and did applications online, i got 0 responses out of at least a hundred applications. then I went into where I work now, asked for an application, gave it back to them whithin a couple days and got hired 2 days later. its also best to give your application to a manager if you can because then they have already met you and will leave that first impression over the others. They will remember you over all the other ones that just handed it to someone who worked there or just did it online. first impression is the most important part.

It's because you're 16 and there's so many limits on kid labor laws. You also have 0 experience which is a major turn off. They need people with no school schedule and can come in any time of the day or night without question and usually you need one employer for most applications

Well u and me are in the same boat it seems except im a year older lol and wat ive learned so far is that the economy is pretty shitty right now so u cant expect to get a job so easily so just keep trying k Smile and I'm no expert or anything but this is just wat I believe so far or have heard, that most bosses appreciate it if u apply in person. Also when u apply its always best to hand them a copy of your resume, also when u write your resume make yourself stand out and make. them know your the person for the job. So hope u get a job soon good luck.

Try calling all the places you've applied and talk to the manager actually appear in person and talk with the managers and leave resumes!
