I see a few of my friends do this. I wonder how they deal with it, and what's the use in it, but ultimately it seems to not affect them. One of my friends and his wife are cool with it. In fact, he invited all of his exes to their wedding. Do you think it's a bad idea, or a good way of ending any rivalries or resentment?

depends on how old the relationship is. i am fb friends with middle school exes and high school exes but not college or beyond...those were too serious and would just cause issues.

for me personally - i wouldn't deal well....ex's are ex's for a reason and you could be playing weith fire if you have them on your facebook page....it lends itself to them messaging you and then the questions from the new partner may just be too much....new life - new direction...no ex!

It can definitely be used as a first step towards ending any resentment you or he/she has with you. You can use Facebook as a way to open up communication without the pressures of face-to-face conversations. You'll find it easier to have conversations online than in the real world because you have time to answer and you can think about what you're going to say more than in face-to-face conversations. Then, when you feel comfortable enough talking on Facebook or some other online medium, you can slowly move to talking over coffee or something more in-person.
