Are the friends on the left side of your Facebook profile the ones who look at your profile the most?
I've looked at mine and some of my friends' profiles and it seems plausible. Someone said it's the people you've interacted with the most on facebook, but I haven't done anything with about half of the people that appear on my list.

I don't think it is but it would be hard to research this. Probably you should assume it is not.

No the friends on the left side of your profile are just chosen randomly. If you go to edit profile and click on the little pencil you can choose who shows up there and how many show up.
