What happened to top friends on facebook?
On facebook top friends(the app) isnt there anymore. It was a really popular app and now its gone. I was just wondering what happened to it. Anyone know?

i have no idea,the same thing happened to me,it told me someone added me as a top friend then i went to add them,and it was gone.

Yeah I was just wondering the same thing... It's just DISAPPEARED from everyones pages... it's not like it wasn't popular soooo I don't know if it's a tech. problem that they're fixing ooooor if they just decided "hmm... ya we don't wanna have this anymore..." And didn't notify anyone... so who knows but no one has a top friends unless it's like "off brand" top friends, lol...

Looks like it was banned. Not sure if it will be back:
"Until Facebook suspended the Top Friends app, created by Slide, anyone could browse partial profiles of anyone else on Facebook who had added Top Friends to their page. CNET News.com confirmed that the security hole exposed the birthdays, gender, and relationship status of strangers, including Facebook executives, the wife of Google co-founder Larry Page, and one profile that seemed to belong to Paris Hilton. Basically, the app was not obeying the privacy settings specified by the user, enabling anyone with the know-how to bypass the security once they obtained someone’s Facebook ID number." I noticed the same thing earlier this morning. I originally thought it was just me until I checked a few of my friend's pages and noticed their's was missing also. I'm hoping it's just a tech problem that will be fixed soon...

Facebook has just confirmed that this is an intentional suspension for Top Friends Application. Facebook says, "We have suspended the Top Friends application while we investigate violations of our Terms of Service. We recognize this is a popular application and don’t take this action lightly." Apparently, Top Friends was allowing access to non-friends’ personal information in a way that violated the TOS. This is a pretty siginificant disciplinary action by Facebook. As of 8:30am, Top Friends is still not available.
