A2 english language investigation.. HELP?

I'm doing English Language, A2 Level and I'm stuck on what to do for my investigation...

I'm interested in looking at the language on the internet, such as twitter/ facebook status', but not sure what to do on it.
maybe compare status' from different ages, or from different years? hmmm not sure at all, any help please? thank you x

Using the internet is a good idea, but I would worry about permission and ethics and things like that when using the status' of people you do or do not know. Also - if they know you are using their tweets then their might modify them (interviewer bias) and that affects the validity. One thing that springs to mind is to look at news websites, newspaper in print and online and maybe compare tabloid, broadsheet and look at language, pictures, length of articles etc. I'm sure you know what you are looking for.

I think there are some books on the subject, you could try look for info and insipration from them.
