Should I use a Facebook fan page for my business or just my profile with groups of business contacts?

You can use groups with your profile but it does require more housekeeping to make sure you don't get extra noise on your timeline.

One advantage over using a Facebook page is that some applications won't post to a Facebook page which makes it harder to post stuff you find as you are surfing the net. This happens more on devices - like smartphones or tablets.

Also, if you are in any business-related FB groups you cannot join a group as a page, only your profile.

So it's horses for courses really!
