when i see "RIP fred" as someone's status...
and i KNOW that person didn't even KNOW fred
it seems to be like it's almost a "look at me" kind of thing
not a support or tribute at all
what do you think?

I think it's just out of respect for that deceased person; whether they know them or not. But then again, when someone I talked to died, it bothered me that people acted like they knew him and stuff.
