this girl thinks I want to be her friend?
I was friends with this girl a few years ago but our friendship ended really badly as did her friendship with my friends. I changed my profile picture on Facebook yesterday and she commented on it saying she missed me and then sent me a really long message about wanting to be friends. I was trying to be polite and kindly told her that we are strangers now and if we tried to be friends again that I wouldnt know where to start.

Truth is I really don't want her in my life anymore. She took the message the wrong way though and thinks that I want to be her friend again. I feel like I've backed myself into a corner. How do I tell her that I really don't want to be her friend?

I hate when that happens. Just tell her. Better now than later. Cuz then that would most likely cause tension

Just tell her the truth in a message on Facebook. Say im sorry, but.. then say you dont want to be her friend or anything anymore. the worst thing that can happen is her getting hurt feelings. but you really are entitled to your own opinion and can be friends with who you want. dont feel bad.

Well you could either:
A) Tell her politely that you have moved on and don't think the friendship would work out or
B) Block her on Facebook so you won't have to deal with her at all.

Say what you said here "We are strangers now and if we...."

Then ignore any future messages from her.

You're not a corner, you're in the driver's seat. Just msg her perfectly politely and perfectly blunt. It's over. It was a long time ago.

Be sure to end your msg in a way that makes clear you're no longer interested in any contact w/her and you'd appreciate her respecting yr wishes.. If she persists, just ignore.

If fact, if u just want to ignore her now that's another tactic. She'll probably keep on, tho.
