to post somehting onto your tmieline, you can just go to "home" and type somehting thats "on your mind" including questions, im not sure if this is what your looking for, but i hope it helps

The official Facebook says so

Where can I ask questions on Facebook?
You can ask questions on Pages, events, and groups. You can't ask questions from the top of your News Feed anymore. You'll still be able to see questions you've asked in the past by going to your activity log.
