Why do people join Facebook groups that reveal bad qualities of themselves?

I have noticed that my friends keep joining groups that promote things that people don't usually want to brag about, like only liking certain kinds of people or cheating on tests. Why would they want people to know about that? Do they actually think it's cool to brag about being a jerk?

They probably don't realise the things they admit to make them jerks. It's probably just funny to them. I read part of a study a while ago that said people are pretty honest about showing their true colours on facebook instead of putting on a show. Good way to know what people are truly like.
