Is there a way to get rid of Facebook Timeline?!?

I absolutely HATE Timeline and desperately want the old facebook back.
I have also noticed that half of my friends still have the old facebook but facebook never asked me - it just changed to Timeline for me.
Why isn't everyone on Timeline? And is there any way to get the old Facebook back?

there is no way to remove it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook, not an optional update - they are now forcibly converting everyone slowly without your consent

I THOUGHT SO TO. BUT ACTUALLY THERE IS! It's gonna take some tolerance though. You have to make a second account. Every new user gets the old Facebook without the timeline. That's why you must created another Facebook. Don't worry! All your pictures and friends and videos won't be gone. All you have to do is
1: Go to account settings
2: On the top it will say "General account settings" Scroll all the way to the bottom
3. Click where it says "Download a copy" This will download a copy of your previous Facebook information to transfer to you new one.
If you don't care about your previous information, then just create a new Facebook, it will go back to The regular one without the timeline
Warning: After a month Facebook will give you a warning saying you must fix your timeline before they change it. Ignore that. Many of my friends still have their old Facebook because they never updated their timeline.

There is no way to remove Timeline, however If you dont like the double column layout of timeline you can revert to viewing all timeline pages in a single column layout format, if you install the highly rated and well respected FB Purity web browser extension:
