Is my friend lying to me about her phone and facebook¿?¿?¿?

My friend had told me her service had been shut off so she can't text me. And she gets on facebook and tells me how much she misses texting me. But when she logs off facebook the chat statuse goes from "active" to "on mobile" When you don't have service on your phone do you still stay noticed on facebook? Or is she lying to me..

Btw we use facebook mobile chat. An app not texts

I actually never thought about that but if when you think about it if her service has shut down and she cant text it doesnt mean her phone is shut down. So why doesnt she download the facebook app instaed?
