i have a facebook account but i want an additional facebook profile for my son , how do i do it?

simple, create another fb account for him with parental controls, set privacy, include him in ur family list(to get his activity updates more often)

I guess just use his e-mail or any valid e-mail different from yours and create him an account. Thanks to my wild grand kids I have two Face Book accounts.
They just have two different e-mail addresses.
