How does twitter work?

okay so i know twitter has been around for a while now but what is it mainly used for? how do you use it? if you send an @username then msg to a celeb do they still get what you said? can you send a private message to ANYONE how do you send a msg to your favorite Co-Star or celeb? is there anyway you can get them to reply back? i am so out of touch with twitter!!!! please HELP

You got it, you basically can write @username to anyone and send the tweet off to them, all your followers see that and the person you sent it to DOES get a notification and and email if they have it setup that way.

And to send private messages to people you must first follow them and go to their profile and hit send message, that simple ... thats how i do it at least.. havent used twitter in a while but im sure its still the same.
