How come certain peoples names don't register when searching friends lists on Facebook?
I'm looking through a friends facebook list, i KNOW for a fact he has a friend called (let's say) James Jones...

...and so i search "jones" it says "no results found". Then i decide to scroll down manually to the J's and voila, i see his face right there. Obviously James hasn't blocked me. what's happening?

It's a privacy setting. If you go to Account>Privacy settings>at the top of the page it says Connecting on Facebook with a setting option. If you click on that it will be the first setting. He probably has it set to Friends only
