Should i send a friend request to this girl in Facebook?

I recently made a Facebook account a few days ago and I saw a girl I like at school so I was wondering if I should send her friend request. I never really talked to her before even though she's in some of my classes coz I'm shy person. Would it seem weird if I send a friends request to a girl I never really talked to before? I'm a bit worried that she would decline it. I know that she knows who I am coz she said my name once for a small thing but thats really it. I'm in my final year of my school so I just made a FB account to keep in touch with my friends during six form but I don't know if I should send this friend request to someone I don't really know much about. I'm kinda gonna miss her presence when both leave :'(

You should definitely send the request. I have lots of friends on facebook, but I probably only ever talk to less than 20% of them and many I've never talked to on facebook. Just go for it.

you can friend anybody you want on Facebook as long as they're a.) friends of friends, b.) you actually know them, c.) you know OF them but don't really talk to them, and/or d.) you've done an extracurricular activity with them, any age, any place.
