Have you placed a facebook ad for your business?

I have recently created a facebook fan page for my business and now I am considering trying one of their ads. I just wanted to know if anyone has done this and can tell me a little about their own personal experience with it. Do you feel it was effective? Did you see a jump in business? Also, what are some other ways you are using facebook to promote your business. Suggestions for running the fan page?

the business is called the park bar & grill. its a bar (beer and wine only) + a full menu. and there are different things going on every night from UFC fights to live music, video DJ, $1 beer night, etc.

I advertised my business (PC Repair) on Facebook. The only jump I saw was the amount of hits on my website, but it lead to no sales and just a nice big bill from Facebook for the amount of clicks.

I use Google Adwords and seem to get a lot better deal with them as you can target ads better on Adwords than Facebook, and many of Google Adwords ads end up on Facebook, along with numerous other websites as well.
