Can I use photos of sports players as my facebook profile picture?

Im a red wings fan and there are some good pictures on the internet of players and stuff, but they are all from sports sites like tsn or sportsnet etc, can i copy them and use them as my profile picture on my facebook profile?? Is that illegal?? i dont want facebook to shut my account down b/c of that stuff?? could they?? I obviously dont own the pictures someone else does thats why im not sure

Fictious accounts are often shut down.
As for using the photo of a pro athlete as your profile / default picture,
I would not chance it due to copyright ownership by whoever took it.
