So im a high school freshman. I got this girl's number at the beginning of the year over facebook. I'm trying to decide whether she likes me or not because she is showing mixed signals.
I have prob like 300-400 texts with her and so far today was the 3rd time I have texted her something like "hey" and NOT gotten a reply. When she replies it is pretty much never 1 or 2 word answers...always a detailed answer. Although, it seems like she is not so interested in talking at the same time because she almost never asks me questions back to continue the conversation. I think: If she didnt want to talk to me then why does she give such detailed answers? Wouldnt she just give short, quick answers? Furthermore, she asked me once over text to study with her at lunch and a few days ago I casually asked her to go to a haunted house with me. She replied with "I would love too! But i'm going to my friends house to watch giants game" (it was day of world series). A last word: she also has never texted me first just to talk...she asks about school work.

As said above, she is showing mixed signals and I dont know what to think.

Does she like me or not want to be around me? I want to ask her out soon.

stop dont go there she isnt into you. that is one thing that girl CAN NOT SAY even if there life depended on it. if she is into you youd be able to tell

Girls are so weird haha I don't get them at all. Some girls just get distracted when they see a text, most girls I know have a fairly short attention span. You always text her first? Maybe it is because that is how she thinks it ought to be, or just forgets to text you. 300-400 texts isn't that bad, most girls wouldn't talk so much to guys for that long if they didn't like them at all... And the detailed answers is a big plus. You're right, one word answerrs is a bad sign. If you say hey and she doesn't respond, you have A couple choices: send another saying a different message (ex: "hey." no response... Wait an hour or so... "What ya up to?" or something similar to that. Or you could wait for her to contact you, if you don't wanna seem clingy. But the first option is better unless you do it too often. Then you will become clingy.

All I can say is to keep flirting. Personally I think she does like you, at least a little bit. Whether or not you guys will become a couple depends on your flirtiness with her, and your bravery to ask her out.
