How do I stop Facebook from automatically suggesting people to my friends?

Notifications keep saying "so-and-so and so-and-so are now friends as you suggested," but the thing is, I never suggest people to other people. Ever. I don't care if they become Facebook friends or not!
How do I stop Facebook from doing this automatically?
I don't want to stop the notifications, I want to stop whatever causes them.
As in, it's okay that Facebook notifies me. It's NOT okay for Facebook to say that I've suggested whoever to whoever else, because I didn't.

You can change what facebook notifies you about by clicking account on the top right corner of facebook. Click account settings in the drop down menu. Choose Notifications in the tab right under the search box from there. After that, you can check/uncheck what notifications you want to receive. Be sure to save changes.

You can't do that on Facebook. Facebook suggests you by friends of friends. You can't do anything about it.
