Why does my Facebook profile send Ads to my friends when I'm not online?

this has been happening a few times in the last month. when i'm not online, it sends random ads to my friends then it shows up on their pages. i've explained to them that i don't know how to control it and would try to delete them if it happened again. is it something with my security, or, what? does anybody know how to stop it, because my friends are becoming frustrated with me.

The two most likely reasons this is happening is either because of an application you have installed or you've somehow let your password get into the wrong hands and they are using your account to spam. If all the ads are concerning the same thing or coming from an application then simply remove it from your profile. Otherwise change your password and check your other accounts such as your email to see if something similar is happening.
