How does facebook decide who to suggest you befriend?
You know the "people you may know" section?

It's on your homepage [idk about the mobile site but def the desktop version.]

It chooses one or two [sometimes just one--why just one sometimes??] people with whom you have friends in common.

Well ppl I went to high school with, I have like literally 50 friends in common with...but facebook never suggests those people to me. It always suggests people I have like 4 friends in common with??

Also, almost everyday it suggests my crush, which I think is really weird and coincidental. Because I only have 4 friends in common w/ him.

Is is likely that if it keeps suggesting him to me..that he also sees my profile when he logs on? Like does it work both ways? Would facebook suggest us to each other or how does that work?

Thx

It is random from their database.

lol facebook is alway randomized..they pick the suggested friends by the people your friends talk to most im guessing? I got the same person popping up on my suggested friends for days and he was friends with only one of my friends. I also sometimes think maybe those people they suggest are people who have looked at your profile before but im not sure.
I wouldnt have big hopes of your crush checking out your profile if i were you..its all randomized and not some sign that yall are meant to be together lol just being honest since i see thats what your probably wondering.
