Im in a relationship with my boyfriend Derek. We have been in this relationship for about a year now.

Its been all long distance kinda. Only cuz we go to different universities like 6 hours from eachother in england.

We went to prom together twice. I went to his senior prom with him. Then last year when i was a senior, he took me. (cuz i was his gf last year)

Anyways, he is always really protective of his phone. He always has been. Not just with me, but with everyone.

He came to visit me. Last night, He went to the bathroom and forgot to take his phone. So i looked through it because my phone died and i wanted to check my facebook.

I see all these tabs open on his phone. On a google search, he has the girl lucy in the search bar. And apparently he has looked many times since we have been together (i saw the search history)

Lucy is his ex. I asked him about her when we started dating, and he insisted him and lucy meant nothing. But he said it weirdly

He basically was like "its complicated"

I also saw he sent her an email if she was studying abroad/leaving.

Um....derek and i have been dating for so long now. Why is he trying to talk to lucy? Why is he searching her?

I asked derek's friend ryan at his college about lucy. (i messaged ryan on facebook). Ryan said "oh yeah, them two....whoa..." he basically made it seem like they had something intense.

Lucy is way hotter than me and seems to have everything in common with derek. Now im insecure about this...

I looked up lucy on facebook. She actually had pictures in her profile with derek. It was like her and a group of guys with derek (it looked like it was taken when they dated before me) He was holding her real close and had the biggest smile.

Yet, with pics with me, he barely touches me and has a fake smile

...is he in love with lucy? Has he always loved her?

Plus they go to the same school

Ugh this sucks. Plus he was messaging another girl on fb Erica. They were talking about lucy, and erica was telling derek how hot he is

Does derek "fantasize" about lucy? What if he has the whole time?

Ryan told me derek and lucy were inseperable but broke up by miscommunicating before they were official, so they left unfinished business. He said they never slept together but almost did, and he walked in on them practically eating eachother alive. (not now...when they dated). But ryan said derek and lucy are real enemies now.

Sounds like you'd be better off without him.
You're at uni, you should be out enjoying yourself, and maybe meeting someone who will appreciate you.
Even if he isn't doing anything with this Lucy, you will always be paranoid about it.

well I hate to be harsh but i think he is in love with her because he seems to be extremely intrested in her so if i were you i would get rid of him do not let him mess you about I have been hear with my ex she was still in love with her ex it hurt me so much until i put my foot down and walked away now I am happy just think about it is he really worth all this upset ? I think you spelt Elizabeth wrong. It should be spelt snoop dogg. Very sly of you to go through his phone. I think you read way to much into it. All guys do it and I am sure you girls check out ex's profiles.

Well, since they never did anything, there will always be this thought in his head. I know for me, when I was with this guy, we were together, but never really officially and now we are not and I have to say, I wish I actually gave it a real chance. I wouldn't say he is in love with her, but I do think if he had the chance to even just sleep with her, he would.

Also, when you break up with someone, maybe you don't actually want them back, but seeing them with someone else will make you think you do. So him asking about her sounds like this is what has happened.
