How Do You Stop Facebook's Apps. Auto-Sending Post?

A lot of apps. on Facebook send posts whenever you use them. I used Mafia Wars, and it emails all my other friends who played, telling them I started. Other things do that sort of thing as well. Automatically posting things without your say in it. Is there any way to turn off auto-sending posts? Or should I just not use apps. anymore?

just take yourself off face book that's if you can I CAN'T TRIED ALSO THINK IT IS A LAZY WAY TO SEND EMAILS ,we tried phones then mobil phones then emails then face book what next / zero

Go to notifications (that square thingy next to chat) and click on it, then hit "see all" on the right hand side there should be a whole bunch of apps checkmarked, you should UNCHECK all of the ones you DONT want to get notifications from, and this should stop them.

Go to Settings on the upper right side of your screen then click on the application settings of a particular application (you may open the application first before proceeding), then edit the additional permissions for that application to prevent it from auto sending updates and posts.
