They definitely have. Even though they are probably the worst pieces of crap to come onto the internet. Whoever plays them are probably 40 year old virgins.

Im sick of getting farmville requests.. the bloody status page is flooded with them.. havent these people got anything better to do!!!? And that stupid cafe world agme as well. Im guna start a petition to ban these games!!!!

Maybe they have. I play farmville, and I'm not a 40 year old virgin neither am I a 'loser'. I never really had a problem with the ones who play those games, even though I was wondering how they could find it so fun. Until I actually tried farmvile and umm, yes, it IS fun.
I don't think it has taken over facebook though. I think MORE people DON'T play those games than people who DO play those games.
Yee, the requests tend to be annoying though, when you don't play.
All you have to do is block the requests, that's all. I think it's better to have games 'taking over' than offending polls and groups, at least.
After all, it is facebook, you gotta deal with it, or else don't have an account, right?
