Confused about Twitter, help!?

Okay so just recently I got a Twitter acount, just to follow celebritys, but I'm abit confused about Tweeting. When you compose a tweet on the home page who does it get sent to? Also I am confused about hashtagging. If you put a hash tag at the start of the tweet, that other people get the tweet, like the person who started the hashtag? I am just so confused.

okay, so twitter is not similar to facebook. You start by 'following' the people you want (in your case celebrities). Once you tweet something, people can follow you.

So whenever you tweet, whoever is following you can see it. Only followers.

If you put the @ sign, that means you are sending it to someone directly, like calling them out. The hashtag sign is kind of what catergorizes tweets. So, when people start hashtagging the same thing, it gets to be trending. thats how people get social media attention.

Its kinda confusing at first but dont give up! Once you get the hang of it its great!
So firstly, when you send a tweet, that tweet goes out to all you FOLLOWERS. it will appear in their timeline and they will (hopefully) read it, reply etc.
Hashtags are quite hard to explain. Pretty much they are kind of like a filter. When you click on a hashtag, it takes you to a knew timeline, and the only tweets on that new timeline are the ones using that hashtag. Youre probably gonna have to read that last bit again so anyway, if you tweet something that has a hashtag, it will go out to all your followers and it would appear on the timeline of that hashtag. For example, if you tweet "im having #fun" that tweet will appear on your followers timeline, and it will be included with all other tweets with the hashtag #fun.
