Do I have to convert my Facebook to the timeline?
I like my Facebook wall the way it is and was wondering, do I have to change it to the timeline? Is Facebook enforcing a new rule that says we have to?

You don't have to now, but facebook keeps threatening to change everyone's over. They also keep pushing the date for the change back, so hopefully they won't do it. Too many people, including myself, HATE the timeline!

Yes facebook have said that everyone will be converted to the timeline, though they havent publically mentioned a specific date that they are going to convert everyone by.

BTW If you hate Facebook Timeline, there is a genuine method to get the old profile pages back. Facebook have deliberately omitted to make Timeline work with Internet Explorer 7. If you view Timeline pages with Internet Explorer 7 (or set your existing browser to pretend its IE7), you will see the old style profile pages instead. If you also want your friends to see your profile in the old style format too, you just need to point them to this solution too.

Theres a guide to setting up your browser to pretend its IE7 and thus disable Facebook Timeline here: http://fbpurity.com/disable-facebook-tim…

Please note that the FB Purity website and browser extension are safe, and have been reviewed and highly rated in The Washington Post, CNET, Lifehacker and PCWorld

Although for the moment Facebook did not make a clear statement in any of its official pages about how the upgrade would be deployed, and as a consequence there is a lot of false information going around, experienced users know that Facebook upgrades of this size have never been optional.

Besides, there are clear evidences that indicate that there will be no way to go back to the old Profile. Take a look at the article in the source to see what those evidences are.
