How do I create a localised search in Twitter and provide an automated response.?
I would like to know if anybody is complaining about toothache in the London area and automate a response to try our Dental Surgery with contact details. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can do the search as follows on the Twitter search page type the following into the search box:

http://search.twitter.com

toothache near:"London, GB" within:15mi

You would need to script and have a computer running to "listen" for anyone using the keywords that you script. Twitter provides an API to do this, link below:

How exactly you would do this would take a bit of work and not really easy to explain in this forum. Before you ask, I wouldn't be interested in taking on this work but maybe someone out there might be.

You could try Ben Marsh who is a Twitter Developer based in Leicestershire, his web site and contact details are here:

Hi! There is no need for you to develop a custom application for this strategy. A wide variety of tools exists online. You can try TwitterHawk. Jobsonica is not affiliated with this site, just trying to help our fellow Twitter user. Remember to check out http://www.Jobsonica.com and share with your friends who are looking for a new job!
